Reggae/Dancehall crossover Singer/Songwriter/ Ganja Activist “Kamrun" also known as “Kamrun Aura-Don" is a Trinidadian/St. Lucian/American recording Artist born in Clearwater, FL. Raised spending holidays & summers with his Grandfather, (Calypso/Caribbean-folk) artist, “Gene Lawrence”, & his cousins in St. Lucia. Kamrun says “ My greatest reggae/dancehall influences vary from Sizzla Kaloji, Dennis Brown, and Bob Marley, to Sean Paul, Damian Marley, and Collie Buddz. (What every one tends to forget is that I grew up in South Florida idolizing Hip-hop artists like TI, Young Jeezy, and 50 Cent as well. I believe my sound was influenced and created by the sounds and diversity of culture and music that surrounded me.” Kamrun has been writing and recording Music since the age of 12, developing his own authentic style/sound along the way. He found himself traveling to Kingston, Jamaica where he recorded his first UNRELEASED EP working with Troublemekka music, RivaNile productions and Highkulcha records. “In a sense, my artistry was Reborn in Kingston" ,Says Kamrun. Spending his free time on the Southside of Kingston Jamaica involved in the Rastafarian community “Lifeyard”, Kamrun was re named “Aura Don" by one of the leaders of the community “Sabukie Allen." Being named "Aura Don", translating to, “The Ruler of energy”, or “Boss of vibes”, truly opened his eyes to the positive impact he and his music would soon have on people around the world.
