Having been described by living legend DJ Bill Brewster as a “one man synth orchestra”, and “the Mr. Fingers of the Highlands”, John Clark under his Debukas alias unashamedly wears his electronic dance music influences on his sleeve. His early years in music were spent as a member of several Glasgow based outfits, including punk disco trio bis who signed with the Beastie Boys record label Grand Royal in the United States, and electro duo Dirty Hospital. As Debukas, his 2013 LP, I Am Machinery, and preceding EPs met with critical acclaim, with his following releases on the 2Sox and Church labels also meeting with much dancefloor approval. Late 2020 saw a new long awaited release in the form of Left At The Lights, a return to the more leftfield vocal-led, odd-but-familiar he is renowned for.
