Big band Cotatcha Orchestra založil trumpetista Jiří Kotača s vizí hrát neotřelou a originální bigbandovou hudbu – a kapela se měnila a rostla s každým novým realizovaným repertoárem. Od skladeb legendárních světových tvůrců, přes současnou českou tvorbu pro big band až po spolupráce se skvělými zahraničními hosty jako je Ilja Reijngoud, Mar Vilaseca či Geraldyne Schnyder. Postupem času však v pozadí jakoby mimoděk zrál vlastní autorský repertoár. Ten vznikl přímo v jádru big bandu a je šitý na míru celé kapele a jejím sólistům. Výsledkem je Bigbandová elektronika, kterou orchestr vydal na svém debutovém albu v listopadu 2020 u labelu Big Round Records amerického vydavatelství Parma Recordings. Cotatcha Orchestra was founded by trumpeter Jiří Kotača with a vision to play unusual and original big band music - and the band morphed and grew with each new repertoire. From compositions by legendary world-known jazz authors, through contemporary Czech works for the big band to collaborations with great foreign guests such as Ilja Reijngoud, Mar Vilaseca or Geraldyne Schnyder. Over time, however, the band‘s very own repertoire seemed to mature in the background. It originated right in the core of the big band and is tailored to the entire band and its soloists. The result is Bigband electronics – project that was released on debut album in November 2020.
