Biography

Pharaoh Overlord formed in 2000 are a Psychedelic Electronic Krautrock band from Finland, featuring members of the Finnish group Circle. The current line consists of Jussi Lehtisal on guitars & electronics, and Tomi Leppänen on drums & electronics, and guest Aaron Turner on vocals & effects. Originally begun as a vehicle to indulge their love of heavier side of Psychedelic & Krautrock music, Pharaoh Overlord’s output has become more varied, mirroring the development of their sister group Circle, moving into more synth-driven captivating electronic panoramas that is more in-line with a Disco sound, with a philosophy to make the music environment more diverse by highlighting interdisciplinary and bold works. Jussi Lehtisalo has been running his record company Ektro Records since 1996. Ektro has published more than 250 recordings, of which about half are Lehtisalo’s own bands and takes care of the recording production Tomi Leppänen a central figure within the contemporary music scene in Finland has a legendary drumming style. Hailing from Siilinjärvi in central Finland, he is a member of Aavikko, Circle, K-X-P, and Pharaoh Overlord, besides having played with artists, like Omar Souleyman, Rhys Chatham, Thurston Moore, and Yoko Ono. Aaron Turner is an American musician, singer, graphic artist, and founder of label Hydra Head Records. He is most widely known for his role as guitarist and vocalist for the post-metal bands Sumac and Isis.
