Biography

Hudson Thames brings back the art of musical storytelling with his unique style of piano driven soul and pop polish. Growing up in Los Angeles among a family of creatives, Hudson learned to sing, act, and play piano at a young age and spent his adolescent years adventuring in the eccentric comings and goings of the California Valley. “It was never a choice but for life to be a grand adventure,” says Hudson. And his forthcoming debut album, co-produced by Grammy-award winning composer Stephan Moccio (The Weeknd, Miley Cyrus), tells the story of such. Through sonic inspiration from legends like Bill Withers and Billy Joel and personal influences such as Hudson’s father, a Mississippi native and blues pianist, his grandmother Connie Stevens, an Italian singer/actress of the old Hollywood era, and Hudson’s “Ratpack” gang of friends The Hounds, Hudson creates a multifaceted body of work with intense attention to detail and musical maturity while still making you want to dance and drink whiskey. His lead single “Last Call,” a nostalgic hymn for his youth, makes the perfect introduction. It’s a song about The Hounds - a group of young artists who grew up together in an environment often too intense for their age. “I always searched for the family I found in The Hounds. We’re all these misfit toys who saved each other’s lives,” says Hudson. “Last Call” is about camaraderie and loyalty. “When everyone’s left the bar, it’s about who’s left.”
