When you talk about Calez you’re talking about someone who decided who he was amongst his upbringing. From finding his love for rap early on living in a homeless shelter with his family. To creating music in a section 8 home years later that would start his career. Calez introduced himself to the industry through music blogs in 2012 with debut mixtape "Kid With Raps” as a part of former crew 2008igties/Brkf$t Club whom attracted attention of Complex, 2dopeboyz, XXL, HotNewHipHop, and would also land him in Chicago’s publications The Reader, and Redeye. He then released "Too Broke Tape" in 2013, later his self-titled moniker "Ceito" mixtape in 2014, attracting a loyal following and his face in the Chicago Sun-Times “Fresh faces of Chicago” cover story. Calez has memorable verses with musical peers Chance The Rapper, Mick Jenkins, Alex Wiley and more. His music influenced by his upbringing, life lessons, and artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Pharrell has been performed through festivals like SXSW, NXNE, CMJ, and A3C. After producing for Alex Wiley’s “Village Party II” mixtape, Calez spent 2015 creating mixtape “BABY” released in 2016. 2 years later, spring 2018 he released "Poppa EP" which featured single "Cool” with Mick Jenkins & Alex Wiley. 2021 Calez has reintroduced himself to his audience being more vocal about his interest in spirituality and even blending the two together in latest single "Spiritual Heaven" produced by Holly.
