Gisli last full-length album came out on EMI Records around 15 years ago. ‘How About That’ was released to an almost unanimous critical acclaim and Gisli spent the following years touring with his Norwegian band. Gisli went to Los Angeles to write and record his second album but took a break from his solo career and never released the finished album. But it’s not like he hasn’t been active in music since that time, recording, producing and writing for other people like Duffy, Mick Jones (The Clash), Anja Garbarek, and Cathy Dennis to name only a few, as well as releasing the odd solo song here and there, plus a collection of songs last year with Norwegian artist William Hut on Norwegian label Appollon Records. A lot of other things have happened since Gisli stopped touring, including moving to his native Iceland where he ́s built his own studio by the sea, taken up fencing, learned spanish, and become a master cat whisperer. Since moving to Iceland Gisli has been active in the local music scene, recording, producing and mixing everything from EDM to up-and-coming punk bands, but has now felt the need to release more of his own music, starting with a full length solo album called The Skeleton Crew.
