60 Channels is the brainchild of recording artist, producer and film and television composer, The Angel. Formed in ’98 as an experimental electronic project, 60 Channels gave The Angel room to expand her downtempo roots. Known for blending soul, jazz, reggae and hip hop in the early nineties, she incorporated drum 'n bass, jungle and alternative flavors into her 60 Channels productions. The debut album, "Tuned In Turned On," and EP, "Give Me Your Love,” were the first releases. The Angel featured international, eclectic vocalists, like Angie Hart (Frente!), Tre Hardson (Slimkid3 of The Pharcyde), UK dnb don, Navigator (The Freestylers), Monday Michiru , DJ Collage, Rain Phoenix, Karen Grant (known for backing Andrew Tosh & Junior Marvin) and Cokni O’Dire (Freestyle Fellowship). These vocalists all have a strong identity in their individual genres. Since '98 The Angel has DJed and performed as 60 Channels at events as diverse as Coachella '98, SXSW, the Montreal Jazz Festival and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn on CBS. The Angel’s Supa Crucial Recordings released the album, "Covert Movements," in 2004 along with numerous dnb remixes by US legend E-Sassin, Canada’s Vinyl Syndicate, London’s Deep Rooted, Bristol’s More Rockers and Origin, Sklyer Mic and UFO! 2009 releases include "Counter Evolution” (The Angel Remix), “Scorched Earth (Earthstar Mix)” and "Covert Movements (Instrumentals)" album. And in 2022 “How It Goes Down,” (feat Slimkid3) The Angel Remix.
