Creola, a live electronic musician based in Sheffield, UK, is fast gaining recognition for his searing improvised hardware sets incorporating live bass, guitar, synths, drum machines and a healthy dose of funk. As the co-owner of social enterprise RiteTrax, grassroots music venue Plot 22 and party crew Zone 88, Creola is a well-respected character in the Steel City’s underground music scene, playing an important role in the local club and community music culture.. A musician at heart, Creola has earned his stripes in the grassroots music scene, having over 20 years of experience as a professional bassist and guitar player, with musicality featuring as a core element of his performances. Inspired by a diverse range of artists including the likes of A Guy Called Gerald, KiNK, Marc Rebillet, Saytek, Chic & Nile Rodgers, Johnny Marr and The Stone Roses, you can expect an eclectic performance with plenty of groove made for the dancefloor. With releases on Dragon Trax Recordings and Fun Sponge Records, as well as a forthcoming debut EP expected on With Bells Records in 2024, Creola is building a strong body of work alongside his growing archive of live sets. 2024 is set to be an exciting year for Creola.
