Biography

Kumi Okamoto is originally known for her work in the band The Konki Duet, and as a member the two-piece francophile band from Tokyo named Crazy Curl. She embarked on a solo career as Kumisolo, centered around a simple motto : pop, pop and more pop! There are good chances that you have already heard catchy songs from her debut album (My Love for you is a cheap pop song, released in 2008) such as "Dance Music", "Cheap Pop Song" or even live in a city near you. Insatiable, hyperactive, she regularly treats her fans with private parties in Paris and charming unreleased tracks on the internet. She also loves to dive into ambitious artistic projects : an interactive sound and vision show with Shobosho at Gaîté Lyrique, a graphic & musical recipe book, and even a D.I.Y. TV show for Canal + with a dash of cheeky humour. 100% focused on her own songs et her own universe, Kumisolo has then released 2 critically-acclaimed EPs : Coeur Frag in close collaboration with Leo Hellden (Tristesse Contemporaine, Slove) and La femme japonaise with Ricky Hollywood, just before her brand new album named Kabuki femme fatale with the entire arrangement by Joe Davolaz, the swedish tropical band.
