Italian pianist Vanessa Benelli Mosell began taking piano lessons at age 3, and at 7 she was enrolled in the International Piano Academy in Imola. In 2007, she moved to Moscow to study at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, then London at the Royal College of Music where she studied with Dmitri Alexeev. She graduated in 2012. She has toured Asia, North America and South America, and performed in the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, England, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain, Israel, Russia, and Turkey. She has been a soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal National Scottish Orchestra, RTE Dublin, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Berliner Symphoniker, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino among others. She replaced Martha Argerich playing with the Moscow Soloists in 2012. Benelli Mosell was mentored by Karlheinz Stockhausen, and she has been universally praised for her interpretation of his works, as well as recording most of his Klavierstücke. Her repertoire also includes standard Romantic and modern works, and she has recorded music by Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Alexander Scriabin, Modest Mussorgsky, Claude Debussy, Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Philip Glass. She records for Decca, and is a Steinway Artist. She is also active as a conductor.
