Diffusive is a Hip-Hop rapper/producer born in Milwaukee, WI. His music largely focuses around far-left political concepts and philosophical references, while his production is largely influenced by neo-soul and jazz musical traditions. The most recent project produced, written, recorded, and mixed by Diffusive is There Never Was a West, a project named after anthropologist David Graeber's essay of the same name, where the influences of Western culture are shown to be influenced by non-Western philosophies. This new album examines this same topic musically, by showcasing African, Asian, and American Indigenous elements of music and tying them to Western musical conventions.
