Biography

Seven Years is a group of musicians and songwriters that hail from all over the United States: Seattle, Maryland, St. Louis, and Little Rock...just to name a few. We all found each other in the heart of Los Angeles where we thrive on making beautiful music together. We are first and foremost a Christian band that seeks to glorify, praise, and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through music. We spent over a year in the studio producing our debut album but the songwriting started much earlier than that. J. Suthern Hicks felt called to write songs that not only praised God but also questioned the journey he was on. Being a Christian does not always mean life is picture perfect and our walk is not always along rosy paths. Sometimes we must walk amongst the thorns and sometimes we mistakenly help plant a few along the way. We were very fortunate to have many talented (including Grammy nominated) people work on our album, including but not limited to Sean Winchester who toured with the band Everclear, Edwin Carranza who also plays for Kenny Lattimore, Marc Desisto who did our mixing, as well as some great young up and comers like Brian Wertheim and Chase Ryan. Let the Sun In was featured in the movie Where Children Play starring Brian White and Macy Gray. Our latest release, Storm, was written for the movie curently titled The Miss Havisham Effect: starring Rochelle Aytes and Brian White. We are currently working on a new album to be released in late 2020.
