I’m Luke Edney and whether you’re after some rocking riffs to party to or sad songs to put your earbuds in and reflect on life with, I write music for you. I have been pigeon-held into the country category, mostly because of my gritty voice that has formed over the years and is often compared to Chris Stapleton. My roots however are formed from blues, soul, folk and classic rock as well, which play a heavy role in the way my music is formed and often goes overlooked. Coming from a small town in Surrey, England and never really being that interested in music before, I picked up a guitar at the age of 11 that my grandfather left me before he passed away. Never knowing that he always wanted to play but never got around to it has made my musical journey spiritually grounded and always with meaning. Music is my life, and writing of it is my therapy. My process is to write from the heart and experience, but to include the listener in the song as well. This makes my art often globally relatable.
