Biography

After spending a dozen years of his early music career touring the U.S. as front man for two St. Louis-based bands (LP Outsiders, Fundamental Elements), Russ Mohr is back on the scene as a solo artist, writer, arranger, and producer. Currently in the process of releasing a series of singles in anticipation of his upcoming album release, "The Kingdom Sessions, Volume 2" (coming in Fall 2024), Russ is building off the momentum and direction of his 2019 release, “The Kingdom Sessions.” Mohr's soulful musical styling delivers a hope-filled message that is both timely and timeless. Though unapologetically rooted in a faith-based worldview, his writing is surprisingly accessible to a wide audience, regardless of their religious convictions. His aim, after all, is to bring people together. He explores a broad scope of complex issues and themes—love, faith, community, social justice, forgiveness, and reconciliation—and does so with heart-felt honesty and conversational ease. His arrangements and production take the listener along an eclectic landscape of styles and sounds that are as fresh and modern as they are classic and familiar. An unmistakable marker of Mohr's music is his emphasis on collaboration. Volume 1 of "The Kingdom Sessions" featured contributions from 12 writers and 70+ musicians spanning 10 U.S. cities, and showcased a number of notable guest appearances. "Volume 2" promises more of the same as Mohr's creative community continues to expand and evolve.
