Born and raised in San Sebastián, Spain, to globe-trotting musical parents, I developed an early interest in dance and music from a variety of cultures. While visiting family where my mother was brought up in East Africa, I worked on the night-life scene in Kenya, opening me up to the Afrobeats/Amapiano style music. My interest in DJ-ing grew out of the Edinburgh club scene, moving me to want to shape the narrative in my own way - to choose and perform the music and to redress the balance in favour of female DJs. The name 'Chilli flakes' was inspired by female Amapiano DJ Uncle Waffles, who, as a similar age as me, has inspired me through her powerful music sets and performances. As I progress in this musical journey, my new objective is to collaborate with artists and producers from the UK and across the globe to craft new musical pieces, aiming to establish my presence not only as a DJ but as an artist within the music industry.
