Danish singer Lukkif explores Scandinavian folk music in a futuristic direction, building on the clash of contrasts to create a new musical experience. A feisty and exuberant electronic universe. Lukkif sings in the languages she learned in her mother’s boat in Denmark, with her father as he laid nets in Norway as well as in the little wooden dinghy in the Swedish archipelago where she also lived as a child: “My grandmother taught me to sing my first song which was “Vem Kan Segla För Utan Vind” (Who Can Sail Without Wind). She was Norwegian, I was born in Denmark, and the song is Swedish. That’s a good summary of how both my life and career have evolved”.
