Mzukhona Wedu is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, performer and record producer. He is commonly known for his hard hitting IsiXhosa lyrics and inspirational choruses. Born and raised in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, Mzu embarked on his musical career as teenager and released his first mixtape aged 16. In 2010 he moved to Johannesburg (currently) and released his 'Johustleburg Mixtape'. His first official single 'Qula' made waves locally and got playlisted on major radio stations such as 'Umhlobo Wenene FM', '5FM', Lesedi FM and Ukhozi FM to mention. Mzu began to gain recognition when he independently released his first retail EP titled 'The Mzu EP' in 2018, and later he was later nominated for 'Song of the year' for "Impi (ft. Zakwe)" at the My City '011 Awards'. Mzu recently released his follow up 14 track offering titled 'Timeless XIX Tape' (2021) which is available for streaming and download on all digital platforms.
