Omar Noir, also known by his stage name Blvck O, is a Gambian/Senegalese recording artist residing in Oslo, Norway. When his parents moved back home to Gambia, Omar chose to stay in Norway and lived with his aunt and uncle in Bergen, where he started writing poems and songs as a way to express his young mind and emotions. After releasing two online mixtapes along with a couple of videos (one of which was nominated for Amandus Prisen 2012 - NRK), BLVCK O got together with fellow Oslo based producer PVCIFY and finally debuted with the dark, storytelling project “The Plot – EP”, on July 6, 2016. Without any major label push or radio rotation on any of the singles, The Plot has managed to generate over 2 million streams on Spotify alone. Perhaps opening up for artists like The Game (US), Arif (NO), Unge Ferrari (NO) Smoke Boys (UK) and UK grime leader, Skepta, early in 2016 has helped the aspiring artist’s exposure, to reach the masses more than he ever could before. Since then BLVCK O has been patiently exploring and working on his craft, but at the same time stayed relevant in the Norwegian music scene through features with various urban acts in the country and pop acts like The Main Level (Bombadilla) and hit maker Morgan Sulele (Noora). After showcasing what he’s been working on the past year at By:Larm 2018, BLVCK O is excited to release new music in the near future, both in english and norwegian.
