Vangelis Machairas is a famous virtuoso in the Greek string instrument known as bouzouki but also in a variety of string instruments such as the mandolin, the lute, the baglama and others. He started his professional career at a very young age and has become known worldwide as one of the best performers of his time in the last thirty years.   He has performed alongside numerous artists and some of the biggest names in the Greek music industry such as: Grigoris Bithikotsis, Yiannis Kotsiras, George Dalaras, Lavrentis Machairitsas, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Nikos Portokaloglou, Manolis Lidakis, Babis Tsertsos, Nikos Xydakis, Eleni Tsaligopoulou and many more and has participated in many events alongside worldwide famous orchestras and conductors. He has worked with the Greek National Opera, with the Kamerata - Armonia Atenea, with Musik ensembles ERT, with Estoudiantina and is a member of the bouzouki orchestra known as Emmetron, which includes a vast number of soloists specialized in playing the bouzouki.   His work as a composer of his own music began in 2007 and he has composed songs that have become very popular and loved in Greece as well as abroad. He has a worldwide audience and he has been acknowledged in all the countries he has performed as one of the best instrument players alive today which, alongside his talent in composition, make him quite unique.
