Producer/Artist - Seyi ‘Shols’ started making music at the age of 13 with the Bonafide Crew, a group of friends in secondary school in Lagos ,Nigeria. He started as one of the 6 rappers in the clique, but overtime, as the group official rooster reduced, he eventually became the in house producer for the streamlined group. They enjoyed moderate success in the Naija UK scene with songs like 'We dey ball , Atide (ft Ajebutter22) and Bad Pass (ft Adey)but in the midst of this, Shols was going through his slow but essential Artist development. He perfected his piano playing , learnt sound engineering and even had a stint playing drums in his church. His goal is always to present a ‘total’ package in his music. He is reluctant to be shoe-horned into the ‘World’ or ‘Afrobeats’ genre because his music is much more than that. His first love has always been hip hop and he tries to always ‘bring it home’ I.e make music he enjoys making, but make it relatable to the Millennial Nigerian Diaspora. In 2019, He dropped his first solo project - ' Afrotherapy' featuring Buju , JoulesDaKid Reblah and more, made up of music made over the last few years. The latest project is 'Hybrid' - The theme of this EP is the merging of various influences and styles of music. Having spent almost equal amounts of time in the UK and Nigeria, he let the sounds and inspiration come naturally,so if you hear music that you can’t quite place, then he has done his job.
