Biography

Internationally recognized for his stylistic versatility, composer, arranger, and pianist Alexandros Livitsanos made his recording debut in 2016 with the album Circular Argument, released by Decca. Since 2015, he has worked as an arranger and composer for major orchestras, artists, and institutions around the world, including Alexandre Desplat, Canadian Brass, Michel Legrand, the King's Singers, Alain Trudel, the Onassis Foundation, the Athens State Orchestra, the E.R.T. Symphony Orchestra, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Greek National Opera, the El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra, and the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra. His works have been presented, published, recorded, and performed live in the USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, Chile, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Bulgaria. In 2023, Livitsanos and Yannis Niarros co-created "Matchbox: The Musical" (Onassis Stegi 2023), which was one of Onassis Stegi’s most successful productions that year. In 2024, the music will be released as a collector's vinyl edition. Livitsanos is one of the most active session musicians and arrangers in the Greek music scene. He is particularly well-known for working in a variety of musical genres, having collaborated with the industry's most acclaimed artists and composed music for theatre, film, and educational materials.
