Paradox are an Alternative Rock band from Cork, Ireland. Formed in 1997 by brothers Pete Mac and Mike Mac the early Paradox sound was heavily influenced by the Grunge Era of the 90's. Paradox have released 4 studio albums to date. Debut album 'Circle of Growth' was recorded in Los Angeles in 2000 and released on a US label, 'Sacred' was released in 2004, 'Corporate Pollution' was released in 2011 and 'Chapters' released in 2015. Singer and songwriter Pete Mac also recorded and released two solo albums 'In Limbo' in 2009 and 'Hiber Nation' in 2023. A music video for 'Mr. Bureaucracy' was shot in 2012 and nominated for best song at the Berlin Music Video Awards. In 2012 the 'Corporate Pollution' track 'Repress Excess' was used on the soundtrack for Canadian horror movie 'Truth' which screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Paradox have toured both Europe and the US as well as playing support to Therapy?, Kerbdog and Shonen Knife. The band released 'All Life Matters' in 2017 along with a music video which won ‘Best Music Video’ at the Disappear Here Film Festival 2018. Paradox returned with a heavier sound for their singles Here Comes the Pain and 'Welcome to the Happy Place'. 2020 saw Pete Mac returning to his solo endeavors with the release of his first original solo single titled 'Disappear' in over 10 years. A follow up single 'Escape' was released in 2021 featuring guest vocals of iconic artist Lisa Papineau. Pete's second solo album 'Hiber Nation' was released in 2023.
