Latin rock band formed in 1986 in Miami, FL, by percussionist Joedy Pauley, guitarist Scott Sherman, guitarist Carlos Fernández, saxophonist Richard Jay, bassist Al West, and drummer Martín Gallardo. Inspired by acts such as Santana, War, and the Allman Brothers, Playeros made an interesting combination of different styles where Western American rock, funk, and Afro-Cuban rhythms are predominant.
