Biography

freestyle battle with Young Dro and Buck Power at the tender age of 8 in their hood of Summerhill set off Lady A’s music career. After winning against Young Dro, Buck Power saw an energy and flow that couldn’t be compromised and took young Lady A under his wing and straight to Jerome Campbell who at the time owned Top 20 Records. Lady A became the first female rap artist on the label, affectionately called Lil Ashley. Collaborations ranged from: Sammy Sam, Buck Power, Yak, Big Gee, Diablos, Crime Mob, Lil Scrappy, Yola da Great, Shay Gutta, Trillville, our very own PZY Campbell and many more. Lady A made her rounds on the tour scene, opening up for the likes of Lil Wayne and 8 Ball & MJG. With age, Lil Ashley finally changed her name to Lady A, pulled on her boot straps, served up her charisma and hit the Atlanta club scene hard, setting a solid foundation in performing at locations such as Coco Loc@, The Libra, The Nite Lite, Crow’s Nest, 20 Grand, The Chit Chat Lounge and more. No longer tied to Top 20 Records, Lady A built Bossfam on the foundation of Loyalty and Love. Lady A can be found in the up and coming “Snow On the Bluff 3” as well. Lady A’s music has been circulating the club scene and the new music is expected to shut the city down. ◊
