Trinidadian born Devon Martin started singing in the church choir at the age 7 and began participating in school talent shows and neighborhood block parties. He migrated to the United States at the age of 13, and by age 16 he performed at block parties and talent shows, he even opened for the Wutang Clan at Club Wave and Sean Paul at St George, Staten Island. In 2003 Lyrikal’s career took a professional turn and recorded his track professionally at Dainjamentalz studio in New York. He recorded a track entitled tiger bone. Since then he has managed to be a consistent voice on the airwaves worldwide and is now one of the most sought-after performing artistes. His music has taken him to London, Ghana, Guadeloupe, Berlin, Toronto, Bermuda, Amsterdam, North America and the Caribbean. Lyrikal has built an extensive catalog and has released several hits. He received song of year nomination at the Ghana Music Awards UK for “Dance Calypso” with Mz Vee and 5 COTT (Copyright Organization of Trinidad and Tobago) music nominations in 2015 and won the award for People's Choice Most Popular Single. He received Role Model of Distinction Award from the Caribbean American Center of New York for his humanitarian efforts in 2017. His repertoire consist of 3 studio albums and over 100 releases including Rukshun, Do Like That, Zig Zag, Freedom, Dip & Roll, Cloud 9, Loner, Conquer Meh, All Over De Gyal, Ramajay, 25/8, Lit, Criminal Wine, and countless collaborations with leading artistes.
