Asha McCarthy is a multi faceted cellist, singer-songwriter and composer. Her solo project is self produced, and her compositions have been featured on ITV, BBC 6Music, the new "Interflora" advert, and Spotify editorial playlists including "The Most Beautiful Songs In The World". Asha originally studied Western Classical music at Chethams school of music, and later received a scholarship from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to continue her study of North Indian classical music in Delhi with Saskia Rao-de Haas / Shubhendra Rao As a cellist Asha has performed with Seal, Alison Moyet, Kuljit Bhamra, Ayla Schafer. From performing at the Burberry fashion show, playing for the Maharaja of Jodhpur, to playing the string parts for the recent "Just Eat" advert with Christina Aguilera and Latto, Asha has had a uniquely varied musical career. Drawing from her background in North Indian classical, Western classical, Irish folk, and kirtan, her original songs and music reflect the rich and diverse musical heritages that she is grateful to have received and which she honours in her work. Her debut album 'Epitaph', out in September '21, saw her combine songwriting and production for the first time.
