Stefan Gubatz has already had a remarkable journey in the field of electronic music. Originally rooted in the genres of Techno, House and especially Acid, Gubatz found his way over the years to a quieter and more conscious form of electronic music that combines elements of Dub Techno, Ambient, Krautrock and Acid. His album "Distanz", released in 2012 on the renowned Cologne label Telrae, explored the world of Dub Techno and Ambient. Gubatz avoided treading well-trodden paths and instead found his own way through vast reverb and echo landscapes, aptly described as "disembodied" by radio veteran Klaus Fiehe. The 2015 album "Mono" preserved the wide sound spaces, but thematically focused on a reduced version of Acid with a subdued tempo and intentionally diminished euphoria. In 2018, the live album "Flucht" was released, which musically leaned towards the Berlin School and Krautrock and was recorded as part of the TV programme LSB.TV. Gubatz finally gained special attention in 2021 with his interpretation of the classic "E2-E4" by Manuel Göttsching. Here he exclusively used Korg Volca gadget synthesizers and created a remarkable version within the technical limits he had set himself, which convinced both fans and the original artist. Stefan Gubatz's music is characterised by its fascination with wide spaces, floating delays and reverbs, and atmospheric sounds. His music moves in a mysterious, cool and sometimes disturbing world, but can also be comforting and harmonious.
