Sajama Cut is a highly influential Indonesian indie band formed in 1999. They have released 5 critically-acclaimed LPs. Their latest album “Godsigma” was released in 2020, making the top 5 lists of pubilcations including VICE and The Jakarta Post. The band is led by multiinstrumentalist Marcel Thee, known for his solo and multiple other projects, including Roman Catholic Skulls, The House of Faith and Mirrors, Days of Being Wild, The Knife Club , Nakatomi Plaza, and Strange Mountain & Strange Mountain II, which has released over 50 albums on various boutique labels all over the world. The band also includes Dewandra Danishwara, Arta Kurnia, Daniel Hasu, Aldrian Risjad, and Adam Rinando. Their hits “Less Afraid”, “Fallen Japanese”, “Alibi” , “Adegan Ranjang 1981 ❤️ 1982”, “Mari Bunuh Diri”, “Paintings/ Pantings” reached top positions in various charts. Sajama Cut has received critical adoration from Rolling Stone, Nylon, Esquire, Trax, FHM, Jakarta Post, etc. The band has performed on numerous live TV broadcasts including Indonesian Morning Show, various MTV ID shows, ANTV Radio Show, MTV Insomnia, etc. You Can Be Anyone You Want (A Tribute To Sajama Cut) released in 2022, featured 30 popular contemporary acts paying tribute to the band, including Sal Priadi, Lomba Sihir, Polka Wars, Neonomora, Bottlesmoker. Sajama Cut has played hundreds of concerts, including shows with Asobi Seksu, MGMT, The Whitest Boy Alive, Ruins Alone, Ken Stringfellow, Radio Dept.
