David Bickley has been experimenting with music and film since the age of 14. At 16 he directed a short film for the BBC and a few years later his Degree film, The Rite of Rain, for which he also scored the soundtrack, won 1st prize at the Sony Video Festival at the National Film Theatre in London. His work has always embodied powerful atmospherics and these were put to fine use when he co-ran Synchroma with Simon Godfrey (Passions Puppets, Drowning Craze), a soundtrack company based in London and producing scores for the series Survival & Equinox amongst others. In Ireland David is probably best known for his work with seminal dance fusion outfit Hyper[borea] who released six LP.'s and won a number of awards including the coveted Hotpress award for Best Dance Act. David has also released a number of recordings with Krautrock legend Roedelius, member of influential '70's group Cluster. This relationship grew out of their mutual work on Jameos Del Agua, an ambient concert film made for Brian Eno's Opal company, which David co-directed and edited. Recent works have included a number of audio visual gallery installations including Eist (in collaboration with Tom Green — The Orb), a multi-screen audio/visual installation with eminent sound artists William Furlong & Slavek Kwi and Future Land, which was the Guardian On-line's exhibition of the week. David also composed the "continously-globally-touring" ambient score for Architects of the Air's Luminarium.
