Genocide, Real name Jusuf is a New Zealand based Bosnian Rapper. Born in 1984 in Zvornik, Bosnia which was then known as “Yugoslavia”. In 1992 Yugoslavia began to fall apart as the different provinces declared independence, This resulted in a brutal war which lasted from 1992-1995 and claimed over 100,000 Lives. At the age of 8 (Genocide) witnessed the brutality of war and the ethnic cleansing of his people. After managing to escape along with his family they landed in Dublin, Republic of Ireland as refugees. There Genocide learned how to speak English and also found a passion for Hip Hop. With the memories of his homeland and the challenges of being a refugee he chose the name "Genocide" and began recording as a young teenager in the late 90's. At 18yrs old he moved to New Zealand but often frequents Europe to visit his family, Genocide has released over 10 albums/mix-tapes and collaborated with a variety of artists including Vinnie Paz, Frenkie and the echelons of NZ Hip Hop. He has appeared on TV, numerous magazines, Newspapers and radio stations. Genocide's style can best be described as Underground/conscious and "War Rap" as the majority of the music deals with his life, social commentary, conspiracies and battle raps. Genocide's latest offering is "Death Before Dishonor" an album recorded over a period of 2 years.
