MADIMA is a L.A. based artist with deep Texan roots. Prolific in writing style and genre, she likes to have a touch of Pop and Americana in all her music; but overall, she just wants to give her audience a good time. Madima believes that music is something she was inherently meant to do. As a child, it seemed that she learned to sing before she could talk. Melodies wandered in and out of her head throughout her young adult life, and eventually manifested themselves into songs when she picked up guitar. Her Filipino-American heritage lent itself to her musical upbringing as well. “With my dad being a musician and my mom being a dancer growing up, it was no surprise that music permeated every facet of my life,” she says. “Our house and our family’s houses were always alive with music. There was rarely a quiet moment, and that’s what I love about home the most.” Making her way to California via Texas, Madima aims to make personal connections through her music: ”I want to write things that affect people, teach people, and most of all, be about people. We’re all just our stories in the end - and I want mine to be the compilation of everything and everyone I saw while I was here.”
