Marc 7 is no stranger to the music business. For most of 20 years he has been in one of hip-hop’s most influential groups, Jurassic 5. His music has been released on Blunt/TVT and Interscope Records; he has toured the world over – many times – and has shared the stage with OutKast, Ceelo, Roots, Fiona Apple and Dave Matthews. Now, with much anticipation from fans, fellow artists and producers, Marc 7 has embarked on a solo career. His music can be thought provoking, angry, heartfelt and honest and he never shy’s away from being true to himself and his vast array fans. His debut solo album, Food Clothing & Shelter, was released in March of 2014. The album received overwhelming support from the hip-hop community as well as J5’s fan base and showcased his fearless approach to his art and confirmed his ability to stand on his own. With his highly recognizable voice, east coast influence and west coast style, Marc 7 has upped the ante with his upcoming EP, When Sounds Attack (Vol. 1), which was recorded with his longtime engineer/producer John “Big John” Meyers and boasts bigger rhymes, bigger samples and a bigger sound. This powerful resurgence of creativity is one of Marc 7’s defining moments and will surely usher in his presence as a solo artist.
