Almost 5 years ago, Simon Lam uploaded his first ever release as Nearly Oratorio: the beautifully simple yet supremely complex Showers EP. While the release remained relatively unnoticed, it slowly gained traction amongst the Melbourne underground. This slow burn gave Lam the time to perfect an all-round craft of song writing, performing, producing, mixing and mastering. Lam has now worked with the likes of Kllo, I’lls, Jaala, Good Morning, Asdasfr Bawd, Wabz, Naysayer & Gilsun, The Ocean Party, Kins, Slum Sociable and many other prominent upcoming acts. Tin was completed almost 2 years ago prior to release. Written and put away for no one to hear, the exploratory structures, titillating timing of both harmony and daring melody demonstrate how the EP is more relevant and timeless than ever before. Seamless fusion of acoustic and electronic instrumentation reflect evocative moods of deep reflection and comfort yet, at the surface, are just brilliantly simple songs.
