After years of focusing on a career as a DJ, J-Mello (Edmonton, Canada) is ready to come into his own as a producer, writer, rapper, advocate and visionary. His journey as an artist had humble beginnings, with him writing his first raps and melodies at the age of 12 years old. He began recording in 2015 and after four years of quietly building his private catalogue, he finally released his first single, “If You” on his birthday, August 8th, 2019. This single’s subsequent success from both the public and local music critics alike affirmed his decision to pursue music full-time and to use his art as a conduit for mental health advocacy within the hip-hop industry. In drawing influence from multidisciplinary artists such as NAS, JAY Z, Justin Timberlake, Mac Miller, Tyler The Creator and his own brother, K-Riz and uncle, E-Dot, J-Mello has crafted a unique sound that reflects his internal struggles, his love for his city and his passion for rap music.
