Kate Fairbrother aka K8-e has been mixing for 16 years, having played all over the UK for brands including Frantic and CyberKitten back in the late 2000s before a break. "I’ve always had a passion for music. When I first started clubbing in '99 I sort of had an inkling I wanted to learn to mix, I was always the one at the after party who sorted the playlist out. Dj'ing was a natural progression for me... Despite having some time out from clubland I never really stopped listening to the music or mixing at home." Since returning to DJing in 2017 Kate has played for some of the scene's most respected brands, such as Twist's 16th birthday, the Vinyl Warriors Boat Party, and also for Korruption at the 414 before its sad closure. Last, but not least, Kate opened up the WeLoveHardHouse 'Weekend Away with Lisa Pin-Up', and was then handpicked by WLHH to perform a special 6 hour showcase with Dawn Lee. This led to her joining the WLHH residents roster, alongside some of the industry’s finest talent. It’s safe to say Kate is back with a bang! Kate has also turned her hand to production, scoring a Vicious Circle release with ‘Forgot About K’, and working with Jon BW to bring her ideas to life. Her debut ‘My Kind of Company’ - dubbed “Diva Disco Damage” by Mixmag, was released on the WLHH imprint with a tasty Paul King remix, and more recently a chart-topping Bass Jumper remix.
