Growing up you have a lot of passions and a lot of choices on what to do and who to be when you grow up. For Abhijit Sood however, there was never a debate. In his first years he began training in Hindustani Classical music and learning the tabla before discovering his first love at the age of twelve: the drums. Ever since that day, he would play them whenever possible, joining various bands while playing on national television, participating in the esteemed Delhi Jazz Festival organised by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, and traveling to countries like Norway and Germany to perform alongside musicians from around the world. Not only did Abhijit possess an extreme amount of technical prowess, but he also brought a charismatic and youthful energy to the stage wherever he went. By 2019, he discovered the digital side of music and added producer to his title list. Under the name Soother he has dropped three EPs and a series of singles displayed a lo-fi style that has a new emphasis on drum patterns and a melodic backbone that told a story through its runtime. Collaborating with other artists has been a dream since he performed alongside so many of them, and now Soother seeks to do that in the digital world where connections are plentiful and opportunities are vast. The skillset he possesses and the fire that burns within him are both strong, and he strives to share it with others to give the people a better place to live in with even better music!
