Raised in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Lauren King is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter with a penchant for pairing poetic lyrics with memorable melodies. Her songs (in the Folk/Country genre) are odes to love lost and found, nostalgia for childhood and musings on the future. She began her musical journey at the age of 9 with the guitar, then was educated in the music program at Stonehill College where she sang a cappella. Today, Lauren is never far from her beloved Taylor acoustic, writing, recording and performing music everywhere from pubs to country clubs and anywhere in between. Lauren’s music can be heard in the films “Where Were You?” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Go to Lauren's media page for articles, reviews, and interviews. https://www.laurenkingmusic.com/media Her newest release - “The Wolf is Back” features 9 songs written by Lauren and featuring guest appearances by musical talents Chris Trapper (solo, The Push Stars), Gurf Morlix (solo, Lucinda Williams, Blaze Foley), Dan Hochhalter ( Dierks Bentley) and Sasha Ostrovsky (Darius Rucker) . Many of the songs on the album found their origin during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Lauren spent much of her time hiking the woods near her home. These walks in nature, while clearing her head, opened her mind to the themes explored on the album. She says, “‘The Wolf is Back’ is about being brave enough to get lost and the self-exploration that comes from that wandering.”
