Biography

José Duce Chenoll founded this group dedicated to early music in 2010 as a tool that would allow him to share with all audiences the music composed throughout the territories of the former Hispanic Crown, and in a very special way, those preserved in the archives of the ancient Kingdom of Valencia. Since our beginnings, we have always wanted to expand the catalog of our repertoire through research, rediscovering those jewels of the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque that should never have lost their voice in the oblivion of the archives. Thanks to this immersion in the musical collections, not only national, but also European and Latin American, the works shown in our record production have come to materialize, all this, from a rigorous respect for historical sources and historically informed practice. All the members of the group have an extensive professional career, both as a soloist and as an ensemble, forming a staff, with a variable number of members according to needs, capable of tackling any type of repertoire. This characteristic makes Amystis a very versatile group, which, although it specializes in early music, has tackled other programs of musicological interest such as the recording of the operaLa Flora(1735), the re-release of the unpublished zarzuela The Duke of Gandia by Ruperto Chapí or the experimental voice-laser laboratory carried out with the company Radiante Lab.
