Casper was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and spent the majority of his growing-up years in the city of Pretoria. His parents, both clinical psychologists, have a knack for creative music - his mother plays piano and his father used to often sing Casper to sleep with his self-composed lullabies about life experiences. From these early beginnings Casper was made aware of the power of music and storytelling, and the healing energy connection of empathic listening. Casper started playing guitar and saxophone during high school and performed as part of various musical acts whilst completing his degree in psychology. He later studied electronic music production and co-founded the afro soul house music duo called Stones & Bones in 2010. During the world-wide lockdown in 2020 he became aware of an increasing internal need for a different form of musical expression that would capture the raw reflections of everyday people and their life journeys.
