Markus Roland Kranz was born in Lindau on Lake Constance in 1974 and grew up there until he moved to Kassel in 1981... It wasn't until the late 80's that he discovered his love for music, although his attention had always been focused on rap music. It was around this time that he started making and mixing beats himself, being heavily influenced by NWA, Dj Quick, and all kinds of G-Funk. With Fresh Family, Mc Rene and the Fantastischen Vier, EMERKA became aware of the German spoken word and followed this scene from then on. After the artist was actually content with just listening to the self-composed beats himself, he decided in 2015 to upload his productions to the internet for the first time under the alias BasstasticBeatz in order to receive feedback....these were mostly very positive....
