J. Solaye is an American singer and songwriter from Chicago Illinois. Growing up with young parents, she was exposed to a variety of music. Whether it be the R&B her mom played while cleaning, or the house and hip-hop music her dad played in the car, she loved it all. Most of her inspiration came from R&B stars such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, and many more. J. Solaye was always actively singing and entertaining family and friends for as long as her parents can remember. Her passion for music only increased in high school, where she began performing for every talent show and event her school hosted. The desire to expand her musical reach motivated her to start writing music of her own. Her love and dedication pushed her to learn simple piano chords, and start voice lessons to perfect her craft. Over the last few years, she’s been working to expand her reach singing, songwriting, and performing.  Her voice is melodic and soulful, and her songs beautifully articulate her trials, tribulations, and emotional journeys. She’s worked on a number of successful collaborations with some amazing Chicago talents such as Drew Damen, Chris Barnett, King Louie, Ace Boogiee, Ness, and Austin Fillmore.
