Fernando Marco, born in Castellón, Spain, on 9 May 1953, studied at the Aula de Música Moderna y Jazz in Barcelona and subsequently graduated in Jazz Music at the College of Music in Barcelona, Esmuc. Marco further his guitar studies with Joe Pass, and his harmony studies with Richie Beirach. In addition to leading his own bands, he has performed with Louis Stewart, Tete Montoliu, Charles McPherson, Lou Bennett, Eddie Palmieri, Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander and many other spanish and international musicians. He has recorded six recordings; two with fellow guitarist Dave Mitchell (Plectrology and Against the Ropes), one with singer Celia Mur (Joy Spring), another one with the latin jazz ensamble MC (Mediterranean), a tribute to composer Francisco Tàrrega: Tàrrega en Jazz, and a fith, called «Preciso», with the italian trumpeter Franco Baggiani. Currently he is the director and teaches guitar, harmony and music arrangement at the músic school Taller 3, which he founded. In addition, he is the managing director of the record company Blau Records – a label specialised in jazz, which has recorded work for prime musicians such as Scott Hamilton, Louis Stewart and Peter King, amongst others. Finally, he is a producer and a music promoter through his company Café del Mar Jazz, as well as the artistic director of the Peñíscola International Jazz Festival, the Castelló Jazz, and several other jazz festivals and seasons.
