Hindarfjäll is a Swedish music constellation that explores Norse beliefs, traditions and myths through lyrical and musical expressions. The music strives to illuminate a time when mankind had a comprehensive worldview that meant living in a constant interplay between the divinities of heaven and earth. Together with poetic depictions and philosofical interpretions of the ancient Scandinavian culture, Hindarfjäll aims to dig up archaic thoughts and notions to highlight different themes and aspects of life. To the sound of majestic and distinctive choirs, rumbling drums, soothing flutes and enchanting lyres the listener is guided through a multifaceted and colourful landscape with a strong belief rooted in plurality, circular ways of thinking and a sentient nature. The main core of Hindarfjäll lies in all of the fragmented pieces conveying reflections of the nuanced complexity surrounding the old Nordic ways and customs. The group signed with Grimfrost Records 2020 and has since then released two albums together with a single that features Peter Franzén who portayed Harald Finehair in the TV-series Vikings. Their second album Lärads Grenar also includes guest artists Johan Hegg from Amon Amarth & Erik Grawsiö from Månegarm. Hindarfjäll’s third studio album (Seden) is set for release August 16th 2024.
