Olegna who’s real name is D’Angelo J, born August 8th, 1995 got into music at age 13. His mom Jennifer, who sang Calypso and dad Claudius, who wrote songs for a band he co-managed had thousands of CD’s and cassettes in their home and D’Angelo would sit in-front of the radio and listen to full albums one by one setting aside his favorite ones. He’d learn the songs word for word and memorize the Melodies. It’s no wonder he’s super fast with creating melodies for music he writes as his brain’s most-likely filled with them from all the music listening he’s done from a kid. D’Angelo made the decision to create the artist name Olegna by spelling his real name backwards and removing the last letter (D), as he was named after the R&B legend D’Angelo and has great respect and admiration for him, he taught it right to let his legacy live on. Being born in the Caribbean island of Anguilla and since moving to the United Kingdom in 2016, he’s set to showcase to the world all the life lessons, experiences and things he’s still learning on his journey in life and he’s wants all of us to take a listen and be honest about how his music makes you feel. Olegna believes that everyone owes it to themselves to do something they enjoy because we won’t know the outcome unless we commit to trying.
