Soulfil is a young producer quickly breaking through into the drum & bass scene with his unique, soul-infused take on electronic music. Having grown up playing guitar, bass and double bass in bands and orchestras, the London-based artist has always leaned towards natural sounds in his music, an approach cemented by his love of hip-hop and jazz. After falling in love with D&B through influences such as Break, Spectrasoul, Calibre and Keeno, he began cutting his teeth on production in 2019. His sound has since developed into a combination of these influences, blending his own instrumentation with the chopped breaks and energy of D&B and the vibe and soul of hip-hop and jazz. His debut single, Tell You featuring Mali Lloyd, was released on Goldfat Records in 2022 to widespread acclaim. It garnered support from the likes of Bcee, Lens, DJ Storm and Fred V, and received plays on BBC Radio 1's Drum and Bass Show and Hospital Records' Rinse FM show. His debut EP, Where You Are, released on Ram Records imprint ProgRAM to similar praise, recieving widespread support from across the scene and landing Soulfil guest spots on Skankandbass and Mollie Collins' Kiss FM show. With more releases planned for 2023, Soulfil is missing no opportunity to continue refining his sound and push the boundaries of what soulful D&B can be.
