Kohen Jaycee is a Ugandan RnB singer, songwriter and live performer who blends Afro-urban sounds with soulful vocals. Inspired by artists like Mowzey Radio, Maurice Kirya Sauti Sol, Chris Brown, Naava Grey, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran, Kohen Jaycee started his musical journey at a young age, doing poetry and acoustic shows under the mentorship of Kagayi Peter, a poet and writer from Uganda. He gained popularity by performing covers of popular songs and sharing them on his social media platforms. He has since released three EPs, including the acclaimed Wena & WENA CHAPTER 2 which feature collaborations with Baru, Abaasa allan d clive, Ridym and Axon. His debut EP Wena became the first Ugandan R&B EP/Album to reach number 1 on the Spotify Uganda Top Albums chart, making history as the very first Independent Artist to achieve that feat. He's also won a UG HIPHOP AWARD for BEST RAP FUSION SONG 2023, with Lukas Blacc for "Ebyange", off Lukas' debut Album Birth of Blacc Vibes. Kohen Jaycee is known for his catchy hooks, smooth melodies and empowering lyrics that celebrate African culture and identity. He has performed at various events and festivals, such as Blankets & Wine Kampala, Oktoberfest Kampala, Shorts Na Lessu, SoFarKampala⁴, and at the annual Bantu Vibes Clan Meeting. Kohen Jaycee is one of the most influential and versatile artists in the game, constantly pushing the boundaries of his genre and creating music that resonates with people across the globe.
