The Montagu is a Swedish pop duo from the southernmost tip of the cold Nordic countries. The two friends, Philip Montagu-Evans and Johan Holmgren, found each other in 2016 through mutual friends and have been writing music together ever since. The band's frontman sees songwriting as a therapeutic outlet stemming from a childhood marked by a partially absent father figure, as well as his mother's long battle with cancer, which defined his teenage years up until her passing in 2016. The band has been active in different constellations since 2015 and has performed at various clubs and festivals in Sweden, Denmark & The UK (KB, Debaser, Sticky Fingers, Sunset Festival, Grand, among others), sharing the stage with artists such as Jung, Public Service Broadcasting, Anders Bagge, and more.
