Victor Malloy is the Gauloises-smoking, cinematic beat-making French new wave alter-ego of Russell Jones. Back in the late ‘90s and early 00’s, Russell spent his time crafting twisted grooves under the guise of the Malloy moniker, once described by a journalist from Time Out as ‘alluringly seedy yet dead sophisticated, like an Oswald Boateng suit”. He released several E.P.’s and two albums as Victor Malloy; ‘The Musings of Monsieur Malloy”, and “Lions and Tigers and Bears”, the latter in cahoots with singer-songwriter Kenny McCracken. Since that time, Russell has become a pioneer of multi-sensory experience design; where all our senses cross over to enhance each other. One of his earliest projects was with the team at chef Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant The Fat Duck, developing the sound for a dish entitled ‘Sounds of the Sea’. Diners listen to a soundscape of crashing waves while they eat sashimi and seaweed. The sound is scientifically proven to elevate the flavour and their enjoyment of the dish. Russell founded his multi-sensory agency Sensory Experiences (formerly Condiment Junkie) in around 2008. His work has ranged from building a touring sensory 360º immersive sensory cinema for Lagavulin Whiskey, to designing every sound that you hear inside a new Aston Martin DB11. His first book ‘Sense: Unlock your senses and improve your life’ is out on 20th Aug 2020. www.sensebook.co.uk www.sensoryexperiences.co.uk Get a copy here - https://tinyurl.com/y8mmcjgt
