Proff Kenya Steve Onyango, musically known as Proff, was born on 1. April at the Mbotela Estate in Nairobi in a family of 5. His fascination with music began during his high school years, he later mapped out his solo career path. In 2010 he got his big breakthrough with the song "DATA", which quickly put him in the spotlight as a solo artist, which was produced at Herbal Records with Maich Blaq and the herbal customers. He would then produce a series of singles as a solo artist, followed by a 19-track album - SIKU NYINGI (2014). After many years of learning, relearning and maturation in the craft, Proff took a two-year musical break, a time that served as a well-deserved creativity space for the creation of his thought child, Tofauti Album (2020). Like its predecessor Siku Nyingi, Tofauti diarizes his experiences and contains music for the soul and is As the name suggests, Tofauti (Swahili for different) is a peak of maturity, musicality and growth acquired over the years, an album designed to color his artistic versatility, as he has explored and ventured into other styles than dancehall. After he moved to Germany in 2019, he worked on his third studio album, entitled TRAFFIC LIGHTS, which he released in 2022. At the moment, (2024) Proff has already put together a band and done several shows around Germany and Belgium.
